Summary of the session:

The number one cause of death for a document strategy is a lack of
sponsorship and support.  Support for your strategy is absolutely
essential, but obtaining the sponsorship you need is not easy, and
will require a sound justification coupled with the ability to
persuasively speak with prospective supporters of your plan.  Selling
your strategy is only part of the challenge, however.  You must also
elicit the cooperation of your co-workers to make your strategy work.
If people resist change and find ways to interfere, your strategy
will not take sail.

This session will examine ways to get the support you need; first by
constructing a solid business case for your strategy and then by
building the ability to "speak the language" of your potential
sponsors.  Next, we'll examine ways to enlist the support of
co-workers by understanding the roles people play in a successful
change initiative.  We will also examine the natural and emotional
reactions that people have during times of change.

Questions to be explored:

* How can you "sell" your strategy to decision makers?
* How will you get the support of your co-workers?
* How will people react to change?
* How will corporate culture influence the success of your strategy?
